Welcome to my blog

Hi everyone,

First of all I want to say thanks for reading my blog. Well lets start with introduction I am a young female living in the UK who is suffering from Generalised Anxiety Disorder. To try and control my GAD I was referred for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and I have to say that this part of my life has been one hell of a journey.

The NHS initially gives six sessions of CBT and then will reassess you to see what the best approach for that patient is. With my first therapist I was promised unrealistic outcomes that went beyond that therapists capability. This left me in a worse state than I was before I even started CBT making the simplest of daily tasks impossible to carry out.

Due to the relationship breakdown of my then therapist I was then sent for intensive CBT. In the matter of five weeks my entire outlook on life has changed, this is not due to the help of the NHS but of the hard work and researched carried out by myself.

Upon talking to other patient who have had negative experiences of CBT just
like me, we all stated that it would be beneficial to talk to others who are suffering from the same disorder as ourselves.

This blog is aimed at individuals who are pre-CBT, mid-CBT and post-CBT. Currently I still see my new therapist, and my GAD is under control. Like everyone I have my bad days, but I now know how to control these trigger factors.

So thank you once again for taking the time to read my blog, and  I hope that this blog can show you that no matter how bad life can get it will get better.
